Personnel involved in the installation and maintenance of Twin Ferrule Small Bore Tubing systems or simply those who require an overview of good working practices
Prerequisites
CompEx SBT Inspection qualification has a mandated pre requisite for previous (Disassemble and reinstall small bore tubing assemblies) technical test qualification and also an industry approved H&S certificate before completing Stage 1 Principles of SBT Assemblies. This is due to the fact that the CompEx qual does not contain any general health and safety but only that of which is relevant specifically to the inspection of SBT.
Objective
The requirement for SBT Inspection has for sometime been neglected with no formal training or development and indeed a recognised qualification. Duty holders and asset owners conduct SBT inspection campaigns. Many integrity threats are found not only on aged assets but also on some new installations. SBT inspection service providers are continually finding anomalies. HSE are also continually applying pressure on asset owners. This course has been designed and developed in conjunction with Energy Institute Guidelines, CompEx and Stability Scotland to address this issue.
Course content
On completing the course, delegates will:
• Understand the components in SBT assemblies
• Understand hazards, risks and mitigating control measures associated with visual inspection of SBT systems

• Understand the theory of SBT visual inspection and anomalies
• Prepare for visual inspection of SBT assemblies
• Work safely to inspect SBT assemblies
