This 2 day Twin Ferrule Mechanical Grip Fittings course is aimed at learners with no previous small bore tubing training but can equally be undertaken by those with previous training or experience

Objective
To provide delegates with the training required to demonstrate the knowledge and practical skills of working with Small Bore Tubing Systems through an individual knowledge test and practical exercises, giving an understanding of the relationship between installation requirements and health and safety in the workplace, how to contribute to a good working relationship and identify hazards in the workplace.
Course content
Work safely and minimise risk at all times
Prepare work area, materials, tools and equipment.
Perform Tasks on Small Bore Tubing Twin Ferrule Assemblies

Exam
Practical Exercise Requirement
Exercise 1 Identify components on P&ID’s.
Exercise 2 Check Specifications, check for defects, cut and prep section of tubing.
Exercise 3 Identify and Sort fittings into correct manufacturers parts. Identify different thread types, materials
Exercise 4 Mark up section of tubing, assemble and make up fittings
Exercise 5 Cut and Prep Tubing, bend tubing to form a 90º expansion Loop and a 45º Rolled Offset
Exercise 6. Install, support, make up fittings, clamp the completed 90º expansion loop assembly using NPT tapered and parallel fittings, and pressure test completed assembly, then dismantle and reinstate worksite.
Knowledge Course Test
20 multi-choice question paper with a minimum pass mark of 80%.
Learners will receive a ECITB Certificate of Training & a Work Based Task Assignment logbook to be completed at their place of work. The relevant Work based Task assignment must be completed within 12 months of the initial training course to be eligible to take the technical test
