GWO Advanced Rescue Techniques is aimed at personnel who will be working in the wind industry or related fields and will have their duties in a wind turbine environment. And personnel that may need or are selected by their employer to perform advanced rescue or lead an advanced rescue operation, where training according to one or more modules of the GWO Advanced Rescue Training may mitigate the identified risks.
Prerequisites
Delegates must hold the following valid and in-date GWO Certificates:
• Working at Height
• First Aid
• Manual Handling
Objective
The objective of GWO Advanced Rescue training (ART) is to give delegates the theoretical and practical knowledge required to access and rescue an injured person from the Hub and the Nacelle, Tower and Basement section.

Hub, Spinner and Inside Blade Rescue (HSIBR)
Nacelle, Tower and Basement Rescue (NTBR)
Single Rescuer: Hub, Spinner and Inside Blade Rescue (SR:HSIBR)
Single Rescuer: Nacelle, Tower and Basement Rescue (SR:NTBR)

Emergency Response Plan in Your Own Organisation
Control measures to prevent injury during training
Cervical Collar
Packaging the injured person
Lowering/Raising Rescue System
Hub Rescue Exercise (From Blade)
Hub Rescue Exercise (From Spinner)
Outside Evacuation of injured person
Evacuation of an injured person from the Nacelle to the Base of the Tower
Rescue from Enclosed Space
Rescue from Crawl Space
Rescue Up
Exam
Upon completion of the course, delegates will be awarded with GWO approved certificate covering the Nacelle, Tower & Basement Module & Hub Rescue Module of the GWO Advanced Rescue Training standard.
Certification is valid for 24 months. Prior to expiry delegates must undertake GWO Advanced Rescue Techniques Refresher training to remain certified.
