Objective
The delegate will be made aware of the causes of and ways of preventing pipe from sticking (stuck pipe) on a drilling rig.
Course content
The following topics will be covered during this course:
> defining stuck pipe
> the troubles and harm that can occur to a well from stuck pipe
> types of stuck pipe (classifications of stuck pipe)
> causes of stuck pipe (packing-off, bridging, differential sticking, wellbore geometry
> solutions (jarring (mechanical and hydraulic jars), water injection, and junk runs)
Exam
To successfully complete the course, the delegate must make a passing score on a 20 question exam.
