Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) Initial Deployment training is for personnel that are issued with Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) whilst travelling to work by helicopter and may be required to use a CA-EBS in the event of an emergency.
Prerequisites
Training entry and medical entry requirements must be met. Learners must possess a valid BOSIET/FOET/HUET/T-BOSIET/T-FOET/T-HUET (or Industry agreed equivalent) certificate prior to attending the OPITO Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) Initial Deployment Training program.
Training activities contained within this Product may include physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel who participate in such activities must be capable of participating fully. Trainees will undergo a medical screening by completing an appropriate medical declaration form at center.
Objective
The objective of the CA-EBS training is to ensure that the learner gains the required knowledge and understanding of the particular hazards and properties of a Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) and appropriate practical emergency response actions to take should the requirement for emergency deployment arise.
Course content
This course covers the following contents:
1.The rationale and use of compressed air emergency breathing systems in helicopter emergency situations, including the fundamental differences
between re-breather and compressed air systems (technology and use).
2.The hazards associated with compressed air emergency breathing systems.
3.Use of the Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS).
Exam
To achieve the Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) Initial Deployment Training Standard the learner will need to complete the 1 mandatory unit.
