This course is aimed for On-Shore Response Team Members who have a role and responsibility during an emergency as per the company’s ERP.

Objective
The course objectives are:
• The roles and responsibilities of personnel during an emergency.
• How to achieve and maintain effective communications throughout an emergency
• Familiarity with company Emergency Response Procedures
• Practice in nominated Emergency Response key positions
• How to be competent members of the Crisis Management Team
• How to recognize the effects of stress on the emergency response structure, how to minimize its impact and how to manage affected personnel.
Course content
This course covers both theory and practical content in the techniques and principles of Crisis Management.
The theory and practical components also introduce personnel to:
1. Leadership
2. Teamwork
3. Command & Control
4. Communications
5. Information Management and Roles and Responsibilities
Course Outline Theory includes:
• Emergency Management Philosophy
• Roles and Responsibilities of the On-shore Response Team Members
• Command, Control and Communications
• Your company’s Emergency Response Plan
• Dealing with the Media, Local Government, Family Members, Security Procedures
• Protecting the company’s reputation through public relation statements
• Continuity of the On-shore Response Team (start to finish)
Day 1:
Theory: Introduction to Crisis Management. Discuss the company specific Emergency
Response Plan and confirm that all departments/sections understand their roles and responsibilities as part of the Incident Management Team.
Day 2:
Start scenario one, this includes a morning safety meeting and outline for the Crisis Management team by the Incident Commander. End scenario and discuss documentation and its importance throughout the emergency. Start new scenario, once the first one has been debriefed. The type of incident will be determined on day one. Recap scenario and course feedback.
