The Basic Technical Training modules are targeted at candidates who have no previous experience of hydraulic, mechanical or electrical systems but may also be used to up skill candidates who have some knowledge but not of their application in wind turbines
Prerequisites
We deliver the BTT as a blended learning course and delegates must have completed the online learning prior to commencing practical training.
Furthermore, Delegates shall have created a personal Delegate profile in WINDA and provide their own WINDA ID prior to completing the BTT training. Valid GWO WINDA ID: https://winda.globalwindsafety.org/
Objective
A ‘must have’ qualification for anyone working on wind turbines, this course provides delegates with an awareness of the hazards encountered when working on hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and installation systems, and how to control and mitigate these hazards.
This course plus the GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) is your passport into the growing on and offshore wind sectors.
Course content
BTT covers knowledge and skills to carry out basic mechanical, electrical and hydraulic tasks (supervised by an experienced technician), using safe working procedures and the correct PPE.
Exam
100% of the questions in the written test must be answered correctly in order to pass the test. Upon completion, delegates will be awarded with a GWO BTT certificate.
The Basic Technical Training is an enduring qualification, so a validity period does not apply to this training.
