The OSHA Outreach Training Program for the General Industry teaches construction workers about their rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint as well as how to identify, abate, avoid, and prevent job related hazards.

Objective
The 10-Hour General OSHA Outreach Training Program is intended to provide entry level general industry workers information about their rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint as well as how to identify, abate, avoid and prevent job related hazards on a job site. This training covers a variety of general industry safety and health hazards which a worker may encounter at a work site.
Course content
The mandatory (6-hours minimum) topic requirements in this course are: - Introduction to OSHA - Walking and Working Surfaces, including Fall Protection - Exit Routes, Emergency Action Plans, Fire Prevention Plans, and Fire Protection - Electrical - Personal Protective Equipment - Hazard Communication The elective (2-hours minimum) topic requirements in this course are: - Hazardous Materials - Materials Handling - Machine Guarding - Introduction to Industrial Hygiene - Bloodborne Pathogens - Ergonomics - Safety and Health Program - Fall Protection
Exam
The candidate will be required to score a minimum competency of 70% on a written exam. To receive a course completion card, the student must attend the entire class and complete all class requirements, including all requisite topics and the minimum number of contact hours.
