This course is designed for persons who are required to enter and work in a confined space and apart of the emergency rescue team.
Prerequisites
A Valid Confined Space Entry Certificate
Objective
This course provides delegates with appropriate knowledge and skills on how to plan and execute a safe and timely rescue in confined spaces.
Course content
Delegates who successfully complete this course will acquire the following knowledge and skills:
Theory
• What is a confined space (OSH Act 2004)
• Confined space Work Permit
• Personnel roles & responsibilities
• Rescue and emergency provisions
• Hazards of confined space & how to mitigate them
• Proper PPE
• Communication
Practical
• Inspection and donning of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• “Snatch a Grab” exercises
• Extrication using stretcher
• Retrieval via winching
Exam
Delegates will be assessed against the Learning Outcomes specified in the Content Section using direct observation.
Should a delegate encounter challenges to meet these Learning Outcomes, RON shall provide additional coaching as an opportunity to meet those requirements
