The course is aimed at personnel who are involved in any type of rigging or lifting operations, especially those who qualified prior to LOLER coming into force.

Objective
• This course is designed to update delegates on legislation and regulations applicable to lifting operations, lifting appliances and accessories.
• The course also covers planning, risk assessment and includes practical rigging scenarios to test the theory.
Course content
The Theoretical and Practical topics covered during this training are:
- Updates on current legislation and regulation (LOLER etc.)
- HSE guidance
- Safety requirements
- Planning rigging operations and risk assessment
- Practical lifting assessment
- Practical lifting exercises

Exam
Delegates will be assessed against the Learning Outcomes specified in the Content Section using direct observation and oral and/or written questions as appropriate. Delegates will be required to undertake a written test at the beginning and end of course. The pass mark for this course is 80%.
Should a delegate encounter challenges to meet these Learning Outcomes, RON shall provide additional coaching as an opportunity to meet those requirements.
