This course is suitable for personnel with electrical, instrument or mechanical background within industry who require a basic understanding of explosion protection equipment and systems.

Objective
This competence-based course, is designed to give an introduction to hazardous area concepts for the use of electrical equipment. The course gives an overview of the protection methods and selection, installation, inspection and maintenance as per the requirements of the NEC 500, NEC 505 and IEC.

• Inspections, maintenance for electrical and instrumentation
• Written Assessment
Exam
Delegates will be assessed against the Learning Outcomes specified in the Content Section using direct observation and oral and/or written questions as appropriate. Delegates will be required to undertake a written test. The pass mark for this course is 80%.
