Objective
To prepare candidates to respond to a release or potential release of hazardous substances as part of the initial responder team to the site as per OSHA 1910.120
Course content
Delegates who successfully complete this course will acquire the following knowledge and skills:
1. Legislation and standards
2. Hazard recognition
3. Toxicology
4. Chemical safety
5. HAZMAT incidents
6. Onsite safety considerations
7. Site safety & health plan
8. Respiratory protection
9. Chemical protective clothing
This course also involves role playing and scenarios.
Exam
Delegates will be assessed against the Learning Outcomes specified in the Content Section using direct observation and oral and/or written questions as appropriate. Delegates will be required to undertake a written test. The pass mark for this course is 80%.
Should a delegate encounter challenges to meet these Learning Outcomes, RON shall provide additional coaching as an opportunity to meet those requirements
