The target goup for this course is: on-scene commander and members of the emergency response team with responsibility for co-ordinating resources during an incident.
The course meets the requirements set by Norwegian Oil and Gas.
Prerequisites
Basic Safety Training.
Objective
The aim of the course is to provide the delegates with basic knowledge and understanding of possibilities and limitations within a search and rescue team. Through this the delegate is prepared to participate on an on-scene commander basic course, where they will learn to command resources during an incident.
Course content
The course mainly focuses on practical exercises, where briefing and debriefing are essential. The observers participate togeter with the SAR team, and will be given some responsibility in the practical training. Tactical teamwork, smoke diving and fire fighting are topics which are covered.
It will be natural to approach topics such as organisation on an incident site as the observers will take the role as commander during practical training.
