Coxswains manning a conventional lifeboat.
Refresher course for coxswains certified within the offshore and maritime industry. The course covers the guidelines provided by Norwegian Oil and Gas for refresher courses for coxswains on both moving and fixed installations.
Prerequisites
Basic course for skid or free fall lifeboats.
Advanced Safety Training for Officers (STCW).
Personnel who have not maintained their competence according to the requirements set by Norwegian Oil and Gas, or an equal approving body, in the past four years will have to attend a basic course.
Objective
Converting from a free fall or skid lifeboat to the conventional lifeboat.
Upon completion of the course, delegates should have maintained and developed their knowledge, skills and attitudes towards their function in the emergency response unit.
Course content
Conversion to conventional lifeboat.
A representative selection of the content from the coxswain basic course, tailored to the delegegates prior knowledge with a focus on practical training and exercise.

Exam
No exam for Norwegian Oil and Gas.
Written exam for STCW.
