Objective
Once the course is completed, participants should be able to prepare the lifeboat, organize embarkation, launch and release the boat, maneuver, and lead the lifeboat operation on the water.
Course content
Day 1 will be conducted through e-learning, and days 2, 3, and 4 will be conducted at the center you are registered for.
During the course, the following topics will be covered:
- Regulations / responsibilities
- Launching systems for ships and rigs
- Emergency communication and relevant equipment
- Equipment in boats and rafts
- Life-saving first aid
- Procedures / alarm instructions
- Command relationships / collaboration
- Personal protection and equipment
- Practical exercises with relevant boat types
- Staying in a boat
- Retrieving people from the water
- Righting an overturned life raft while wearing a life jacket
Exam
Written examination.
Passed exam is valid for 60 months.
