Further Offshore Emergency Response Team Member (FOERTM) Training

This Product is for existing offshore emergency team members who are required to revalidate their OPITO OERTM certification by completing training scenarios that are unable to undertake in offshore.

(a) A valid OPITO Offshore Emergency Response Team Member certificate or (b) A valid OPITO Offshore Emergency Response Team Member Further Training certificate Medical Entry Requirements: Possess a valid, current offshore medical certificate or Possess an operator approved medical certificate or Undergo medical screening by the OPITO approved Centre.

OPITO Code: 4550 This product aims to provide OERTMs with the opportunity to practice and maintain the skills required when dealing with emergency response situations or incidents as members of an Emergency Response Team, in aspects of their role which they cannot reasonably practice offshore. Learning Outcomes: Participating in further practical fire and non-fire related incidents

Practical: - How to select and operate the correct firefighting equipment and media to extinguish different types of fires. - Breathing apparatus control board procedures. - How to identify and don the appropriate emergency response PPE required for the OER team member. - The operation, donning and wearer checks of working duration breathing apparatus. - Participation in an incident brief. - Selection and use of correct portable fire-fighting equipment. - Selection, operation and flushing of foam firefighting equipment. - Extinguishing of different types of fires and securing the area. - Effective communication with OERTL and OER team members during an incident. - The key considerations and actions whilst entering and working in the incident area. - Correct search and rescue procedures and techniques. - The correct steps involved in initial casualty assessment and recovery. - Participation in a post-incident debrief. No. of Learners: Minimum is 5 and maximum is 12 Mode: Classroom training with practical demonstration & exercises on Fire Training Unit simulating the offshore scenarios. Location: RelyOn Training Centre at Qatar Instructor: Competent Instructional staff with proven experience in fire fighting & emergency response at supervisory level and delivering and assessing OPITO fire courses.
