THE TRAINEE MUST BE CLEAN-SHAVEN TO COMPLETE THE FIT TEST AT THE START OF THE COURSE AND TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PRACTICAL COMPONENTS.
1. A person must be of at least 16 years of age.
2. A person must hold a training certificate in MED with respect to STCW Advanced Firefighting or equivalent under subsection 2.2 of chapter 2 of TP 4957E to take this course.
3. All participants must complete the “Fatigue Management at Sea” online training prior to attending this course. A valid certificate of completion must be provided before the start of training.

PLEASE NOTE: Our Bunker Gear sizes range from size medium to 4XL, if you require a suit outside of this range you will be responsible for bringing it with you to the course.
PLEASE NOTE: Certificates CANNOT be issued unless valid Government issued ID has been
presented on Day 1 of training for all ROC courses, including OPITO approved training.
Objective
The course meets the requirements of STCW Convention chapter VI, section A-VI/3, paragraph 5, including 2010 Manila amendments.
Upon successful completion of all training components, in accordance with the Training Standard, trainees will receive a Transport Canada Training Certificate.
Course content
During the course, delegates will develop and demonstrate the competence required to take command, organize, and train fire teams, as well as to manage firefighting operations. They will gain knowledge in fire prevention and acquire the skills necessary to inspect and maintain fire detection and extinguishing systems and equipment. Additionally, delegates will learn how to investigate and report incidents involving fire.
The course requires a minimum of 15 hours training comprised 5 hours of lectures and 10 hours of practical which includes the written and practical evaluation.
