To be eligible for recurrence training you must complete the 8 hour training PRIOR to the anniversary date of your 16 hour training. Candidates that do not hold a valid Fall Protection certificate will have to complete the full 16 hour training.
Trainees need to bring:
- When checking in for training, please have your GOVERNMENT ISSUED PHOTO ID with you (ie: Passport or Drivers Licences, etc.)
Objective
Upon successful completion of all training components, in accordance with the Training Standard, trainees will receive a RelyOn Nutec Canada certificate that is valid for three (3) years and a electronic wallet card certificate. The certificate indicates: " Workplace NL Fall Protection Refresher"
Trainee will also be able to access their Workplace NL Fall Protection Certificate from the Workplace NL CTR (certification training registry)
Course content
Fall protection is required for workers who work at three (3) metres (10 feet) or more above the nearest safe surface or water, above a surface or thing that could cause injury if the worker were to fall, or above an open pit, tank or vat containing a hazardous substance.
Fall protection includes a harness, net, rope, body belt, structure or other equipment and or device that will restrain a worker who is at risk of falling or stop a worker who has fallen. Any worker who uses fall protection is required to complete a fall protection training program prescribed by Workplace NL as outlined in Section 139 of the Newfoundland and Labrador Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, 2009.
Recurrence training will be 8 hours in duration for recertification and consist of 4 hours for a review of theory and 4 hours for practical exercises.
