Dry CA-EBS Initial Deployment 5904

This course is for personnel that are issued with Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) whilst travelling to work by helicopter and may be required to use a CA-EBS in the event of an emergency.

Training entry and medical entry requirements must be met. Training activities contained within this Product may include physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel who participate in such activities must be capable of participating fully. For training entry requirements, Learners must possess a valid BOSIET/FOET/HUET/T-BOSIET/T-FOET/T-HUET (or Industry agreed equivalent) certificate prior to attending the OPITO Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) Initial Deployment Training program. For medical entry requirements, as a minimum, Learners must undergo medical screening by completing an appropriate medical screening form provided by the Center.

The objectives ensure that the learner gains the required knowledge and understanding of the particular hazards and properties of a Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) and appropriate practical emergency response actions to take should the requirement for emergency deployment arise.

This course covers the following contents: 1.The rationale and use of compressed air emergency breathing systems in helicopter emergency situations, including the fundamental differences between re-breather and compressed air systems (technology and use). 2.The hazards associated with compressed air emergency breathing systems. 3.Use of the Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS).
