The course is designed to provide essential basic knowledge and practical experience of Survival techniques for air crew to enhance their chance of survival in an emergency situation. The course is designed for aircraft crew and satisfies elements of training to improve safety

Objective
The course is delivered in a combination of theoretical and practical exercises in aircraft abandonment and basic sea survival. The training programme consists of a combination of classroom theory and practical exercises in ditching procedures and aircraft abandonment. The course consists of a combination of theory and practical exercises in basic first aid techniques, delegates will be continuously coached and assessed during the practical exercises in their competence to meet the training objectives.
Course content
Dinghy Drill: Appreciation of emergency situations Deployment of life rafts In water survival techniques Re+ righting overturned life rafts Life raft boarding, techniques and safety procedures Rescue from the water by use of a helicopter rescue strop. Underwater Escape Training: Escape from a partially submerged aircraft simulator in an upright attitude Escape from a partially submerged aircraft simulator using alternative exits Escape from a partially submerged aircraft simulator in an upright attitude operating emergency exits Escape from a capsized aircraft simulator operating emergency exits The above exercises will be conducted in varying lighting conditions. First Aid: Principles of First Aid Casualty assessment Recovery Position Resuscitation techniques

Course completion certificate will be issued to all delegates who successfully complete the training programme
