- When checking in for training, please have your GOVERNMENT ISSUED PHOTO ID with you (ie: Passport or Drivers Licences, etc.)
PLEASE NOTE: Certificates CANNOT be issued unless valid Government issued ID has been presented on Day 1 of training for all RONC courses, including OPITO approved training.
Objective
Upon successful completion of all training components, in accordance with the Training Standard, trainees will receive a RelyOnNutec Canada certificate that is valid for three (3) years and a electronic wallet card certificate. The certificate indicates "Fall Protection Offshore".
Course content
RelyOn Nutec Canada's Fall Protection Offshore program covers the fundamentals of fall protection for employees working at height in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.
The theoretical (classroom) learning outcomes will be achieved through an online learning management system which is a combination of video modules and a quiz. Upon successful completion of the online portion, the course participant is then eligible to attend on-site training.
During the theory component, attendees will review the regulatory requirements for fall protection, the most common hazards and types of fall protection equipment utilized by industry. In addition, "Basic Fall Protection" meets the CAPP guidelines for offshore workers.
A review of the uses and limitations of the following equipment will be conducted: Anchors and anchor selection, Full body harness including donning procedures, Lanyards, Shock absorbers, and calculating total fall distance, Self-retracting lifelines, and Connecting components
