The Basic Safety Training (BST) is designed to provide personnel with the basic skills that will enable them to work in a safe manner in the wind industry and to meet emergency response training requirements for personnel new to the global wind industry. It is designed to accommodate personnel working both onshore and offshore.
The target group for this training is personnel working in the wind industry or related fields needing to obtain their GWO BST Working at Heights module certificate.

Delegates must be demonstrably medically fit and capable of fully participating.
Delegates may not exceed the weight limit of 124kg due to the weight limitations of the equipment which is used during the training.
Objective
In the 2-day module Working at Heights knowledge on possible risks, (inspection of) equipment, legislation etc. will be provided as well as all skills required for working and rescue at height. By offering a sound course consisting of both theoretical and practical training RelyOnNutec is aiming to contribute to a safer work environment for personnel in the wind industry.
The aims of this course are to give the participants the necessary basic knowledge and skills through theoretical and practical training to use basic PPE and perform safe work at heights and safe and comprehensive basic rescue from heights in a remote wind turbine environment in accordance with BST Module Working at Heights.

All learning outcomes which are stated in the GWO BST Module Working at Heights standard.

- Global and national legislation
- Required PPE for Working and Rescue at Heights
- Practical training in Working at Heights
- Emergency procedures and evacuation scenarios
- Rescue procedures and practical scenarios
Exam
The delegates will be assessed against the learning outcomes.
The course assessment is carried out by the instructor being satisfied of individual competencies through questioning, observation and the use of the control measure form.
