Personnel assigned to man the helideck on offshore installations on the Danish Continental Shelf shall be trained and qualified in accordance with the Danish Transport Authority’s BL regulations and CAP 437.

Objective
To provide the participants with basic skills and knowledge of helideck operations during normal traffic and in emergency situations.
After the course the participant must be able to: Prepare the helideck before, during and after helicopter handling. Use the current radio procedures and visual hand signals. Perform fuelling of helicopters. Perform quality control of fuel. Fill in the applied papers. Define dangerous goods. Extinguish fire inside and around the helicopter. Participate by rescuing crew and passengers from the helicopter.
Course content
- Knowledge of helicopters.
- Theory of combustion, fire fighting, escape / escape routes.
- Helideck manual and traffic handling.
- Aero technical problems on a helicopter landing deck
- Fuelling and test of fuel.
-The forms to be filled out in connection with helicopter traffic operations
-Procedures regarding dangerous goods
