The Banksman and Slinger Initial Training Programme (Stage 1) is for personnel wishing to become competent in the Banksman and Slinger role, in the oil and gas industry.

Objective
The objectives of the Banksman and Slinger Initial Training Programme (Stage 1) are to provide personnel, who have little or no experience of the Banksman & Slinger role, with the basic knowledge of activities associated with the combined roles, and the safety and regulatory requirements of those activities.

Exam
Delegates will be given a series of explanations and demonstrations, after which a theory test will be applied to test their knowledge and understanding of elements of the Modules. The Test pass mark is 80%. In addition, the delegates will be required to conduct a number of practical activities. Their performance in these practical exercises will be evaluated using direct observation. Understanding, knowledge and performance will be assessed against the learning outcomes specified .in the candidate assessment plan.
Validity: 2 years and 8 months.
