Objective
To train participants to conduct fit tests provided for in the Respiratory Protection Program, by presenting the different methods and protocols available.
Course content
1. Definitions; 2. Selection of the appropriate respirator for the exposure and the user; 3. Inspection of respirators and ability to identify those with poor maintenance; 4. Correct placement of the mask to cover the airways; 5. Seal checking; 6. Purpose and applicability of qualitative and quantitative fit tests; 7. Purpose of the protocol exercises; 8. Preparation of facial parts to being tested; 9. Checking facial parts and test equipment; 10. Capacity and limitations of test equipment; 11. Correct conduct of the test following the chosen method; 12. Problems that may arise during the test; 13. Interpretation of the test results; 14. Information that must be recorded.
