Personnel who, in their daily work, will use or currently use forklifts with a permanent operator’s seat on the vehicle. T1 to T5 operators must complete practical driving training with a mentor within the company.

Objective
The purpose of the training is to provide future forklift operators with solid theoretical basic training in the safe use of forklifts. The training will give students a thorough understanding of the principles of forklift construction, operation, maintenance, and use, helping to prevent accidents and incidents related to forklift operation.
Course content
Forklift Theory – 3 days, Modules 1.1 - 2.2 - 3.2 (T1-T5)
T1: Pallet truck without permanent operator seat
T2: Reach truck and support-leg trucks
T3: Swing arm forklift and high-lift order picker
T4: Counterbalance forklift
T5: Side loader
T20: Other types of forklifts must be specified
A minimum of 20 hours of practical training per forklift class with a mentor in the company is required.
Mentorship agreements and practical assessments must be arranged with BIKS Industriopplæring.
