This product is for currently-appointed OPITO-certified HERTLs who are required to revalidate their OPITO HERTL certification by refreshing and updating their knowledge and skills in aspects of their role that cannot be practiced in the workplace.

(a) A valid OPITO Helideck Emergency Response Team Leader Training Certificate or
(b) A valid OPITO Helideck Emergency Response Team Leader Further Training Certificate or
(c) A valid OPITO Helideck Operations Initial Training certificate and a valid Helideck Emergency Response Team Member (HERTM) certificate and a valid Offshore Emergency Response Team leader (OERTL) Certificate
Medical Entry Requirements:
Possess a valid, current offshore medical certificate or Possess an operator approved medical certificate and Undergo medical screening by the OPITO approved Centre.

To refresh elements of HERTL training that cannot be completed in the workplace and updating HERTLs on key changes to helicopter operations, systems, relevant legislation and regulation over the previous 2 years.

• Execute search and rescue activities
Course content
Theory:
- Key parts of relevant helideck operations regulations and guidelines including any recent updates to the HLO role
- The principles of helicopter emergency response.
Practical:
- Leading effective emergency response to incidents on or around a Helideck
- Leading firefighting activities during an emergency response
- Effective Search and rescue (SAR) principles and techniques – on or close to the helideck, locating, extracting and handling missing personnel and casualties following a helicopter incident on the helideck
- Leading the use of firefighting equipment correctly
No. of Learners: Minimum is 4 and maximum is 12
Mode: Classroom training with practical demonstration & exercises on Helicopter prop simulating the offshore helideck emergency scenarios.
Location: RelyOn Training Centre at Qatar
Instructor: Competent Instructional staff with proven experience in aircraft fire fighting & emergency response at supervisory level and delivering OPITO fire courses and assessment.
Exam
Learners will be assessed against all the knowledge and practical learning outcomes specified in accordance with the assessment guidance detailed in each unit of the OPITO product
Certification:
Upon successful achievement of all learning outcomes, participants will be awarded a certificate with validity of 02 years.
